Please note that flights terminate in Nairobi or Dar es Salaam. Unless booked through to Zanzibar you may need to arrange a transfer flight.
Jodari Fishing Club will meet you at the Airport, transfer you and at the end return and drop you at the Airport. Arrival and departure Transfers are set at $80.00 per couple.
Travel Insurance is a must. We carry first aid kits, however more serious illness or injury will require outside assistance. There is an "On Call" doctor available. While Zanzibar has a Hospital and a few Clinics, we will generally relocate you to Dar es Salaam or Nairobi. These treatments and relocation's will be at the Patient's cost.
Tanzania and in particular Zanzibar has a relatively low crime rate. Petty theft is a concern, but common sense can prevent this.
Election time in Zanzibar can be a little intimidating with most of the Mainland Army sent to the Island.
All rallies by the two main parties are peaceful.

Malaria is a concern and a good repellant is crucial. Malaria can be life threatening. Clinics do quick test's for Malaria. Treatments here are cheap and effective.

Visa's are available in your Country of residence.
It is possible to obtain a Visa at Dar es Salaam or in Zanzibar. This is a simple process at the Arrivals hall passing through Immigration.
Please check whether your Nationality requires are pre-issued Visa before arriving

Below is a list of items that are a must. While most item's are available in Zanzibar it is suggested that you pack them in.
Cool clothes, shorts, cotton shirts, T shirts, hat etc
Warm Clothes, seldom necessary but a pair of slacks, sweatshirt and a windbreaker may come in handy.
Boat Clothes. Quick dry shirts and shorts, windbreaker. It is the one area you can get cold.
Shoes . flip flops, sandals. one pair of quick dry boat shoes will thick rubber sole. Sea urchins can be a problem and leave a painfull spike inside your foot.
Mosquito repellant
Topical cream for bites and stings.
Headache tablet's and any required medication.
Suntan lotion and Sunblock. Aftersun
Toiletries i.e. Tootbrush, Toothpaste, Shampoo, Soap, Deoderant etc
